Authors After Dark Author Spotlight Interview - Megan Grooms

Please welcome Megan Grooms as part of The Qwillery's Authors After Dark Author Spotlight Interviews.

TQ:  What inspired you to become a writer?

Megan:  I have been writing a long time, since middle school however meeting a wonderful woman at Tease Publishing where by books have been published has actually made my dream a reality. Tonya was great, taking me under her wing and telling me about the business well before I dared send her anything to publish. I just enjoy my characters so much I had to write their stories down and I wanted to share their stories with everyone else.

TQ:  What is the most challenging thing for you about writing?

Megan:  Trying to make myself sit down and write for a set amount of time. I still struggle with that. I usually get writing done when my husband is gone but he's home more often now and it's been hard for me to pull myself away to write. I am hoping to get some kind of routine going but it's been elusive so far.

TQ:  What writing achievement are you most proud of?

Megan:  Just getting the first book published. I am still quite new to writing and each time I learn how many books I've sold or had people contact me to tell me how wonderful they thought my book was is the best thing I could hear. It makes me want to sit down and write more on the next book in my series.

TQ:  What one thing should everyone know about your writing?

Megan:  I am writing romance right now and enjoy it but I have some Urban Fantasy and Science Fiction books that I would love to have published. I'm not just a romance writer. I also love series books so if there is one most likely there will be more to follow at least involving the people in the book you've already read. Like my Rolling Hills. The next book is about two other people on the Ranch but you will see Sam and Luke again.

TQ:  Please tell us about your latest and upcoming works.

Megan:  My only full length story is Finding Samantha. Set on Rolling Hills Ranch. Sam has to get away from her old life and memories and moves to the ranch where she meets Luke. It's a story about getting over the loss of someone and falling in love with someone else. The second book I'm working on right now is John's book. At the moment it's called Loving Allison and I hope to have it done soon to send to my publisher but he's being difficult and I've been procrastinating. I do have a three short stories on All Romance ebooks that I have been putting out while trying to get John's book written. They are Handsome Stranger, Hestia's Vacation and Halloween Madness.

TQ:  Thank you for joining us at The Qwillery.

Megan:  Thank you so much for having me. I hope everyone enjoyed my answers and feel free to ask any more questions. I will try to answer them for you.

  7. Thanks for the great interview and giveaway! This is a new author to me and I really appreciate the spotlight.

I love almost any romance but I'd have to say that my favorite so far have been by Julie Garwood, mainly for sentimental reasons (she was my first). I also read a lot of PNR and so far, my fav couple has to be Eve and Roarke from J.D. Robb's In Death series.

  8. Jane Eyre is one of my favorite love stories. Jane's circumstances are so tragic at times but she overcomes them and finds love with an unlikely hero. It touches on themes I enjoy in all love stories.
