Please welcome Sara Humphreys to The Qwillery. Untamed, the 3rd novel in The Amoveo Legend, is published today. Happy Publication Day to Sara!

Birth of the Amoveo
by Sara Humphreys

I’ve been asked, on several occasions, just where the heck did the idea for the Amoveo come from and it’s a fair question. The best answer I have is…my over-active imagination. I’ve always been a dreamer, more specifically; a daydreamer and it got me in trouble more than once when I was in school. I was far more interested in dreaming up fantastical characters and places than I was in learning about algebra or amoebas.

My mother is just so thrilled that I’ve finally found a way to put all of that daydreaming to use.

I loved the idea of shape shifters but I wanted my shifters to be different from the others I’d read about which is why I decided to have them consist of ten different animal clans. I’m a sucker for fated mates and destiny so they definitely had to have that component but I decided to raise the stakes and make it a life or death thing. If they don’t find their mates by the age of thirty they begin to lose their abilities and die. They also can only have children with their lifemate and this little caveat makes their race even more fragile. If you kill one Amoveo then the mate will ultimately die and you wipe out the possibility for offspring.

The truth is that there was no one “ah-ha” moment that brought about the Amoveo but it a series of moments that ended up bringing them to life. Essentially, I created a series that I would like to read. Before I was a writer, I was (and still am) an avid reader. I fell in love with books by Christine Feehan and Lori Handeland and one day I decided to take my ideas and put them on paper. I thought that maybe, just maybe, someone else would like to read what I created. If you love shifters, hot alpha males and true love, I do hope you’ll come along and dive into the world of the Amoveo.

Dream on…
