Regency and Paranormal Romance: The Ultimate Genre Blend
I am often asked why I decided to blend historical and paranormal romance. My first answer was that it came natural to me since those are my favorite genres to read. The few times I could find both were always a treat. Anne Rice was the master of blending historical with the paranormal… but there wasn’t enough romance for me.
I’d toyed with the idea of writing a Regency paranormal for awhile but didn’t quite have the courage. Best to stick with paranormal romances set in my familiar hometown.
Then I discovered that the horror genre was born in the Regency era. Seriously, The Vampyre (the 1st vampire story in English) and FRANKENSTEIN were created the same night when Lord Byron, John Polidori, Mary Shelley, and Percy Shelley were partying like rock stars and had a horror story writing competition during a thunderstorm.
This gave me THE idea and I could not be stopped. What effect would stories like The Vampyre have on real vampires back in the regency? What effect would they have on a debutante who wants to write her own horror stories?
And so BITE ME, YOUR GRACE was born. It was a lot of fun researching countless aspects of life in 19th century England and blending those facts with world-building for my vampires. I hope readers have as much fun reading the story.

London's Lord Vampire Has Problems
Dr. John Polidori's tale "The Vampyre" burst upon the Regency scene along with Mary Shelley's Frankenstein after that notorious weekend spent writing ghost stories with Lord Byron.
A vampire crazy broke out instantly in the haut ton.
Now Ian Ashton, the Lord Vampire of London, has to attend tedious balls, linger in front of mirrors, and eat lots of garlic in an attempt to quell the gossip.
If that weren't annoying enough, his neighbor, Angelica Winthrop has literary aspirations of her own and is sneaking into his house at night just to see what she can find.
Hungry, tired, and fed up, Ian is in no mood to humor his beautiful intruder...
